How do I create my first job document?
Open the workspace, start a blank job or load the illustrative sample, and add your business, client and scope. Check your quantities and prices, preview each document and download the PDFs you need. All four document types are available in the current free public beta.
- Open the workspace and add your job reference and date.
- Add your business, client, location and scope. Include a contact method.
- Add item quantities and unit rates. Set your discount, tax and requested deposit.
- Review the Estimate and Job sheet previews. Use our estimate checklist before sharing.
- Record additional work in Change request. See how to record a change.
- Add completion and outstanding-item notes at handover. Follow the handover checklist.
- Download individual PDFs or the full pack. You send the documents yourself.
- Save locally and export a JSON backup to a private location.
Numbers you can check
Each line is quantity multiplied by unit rate, rounded to cents. Discount is deducted before tax. The deposit is a request, not recorded cash. A change amount records additional work separately and does not silently alter the original estimate or calculate extra tax.
Local and cloud saving
Local save stays in this browser. Clearing browser data can delete local jobs. Export backups regularly. Optional cloud saving uploads the current job only when you choose Save current job to cloud and sign in. Server download sends the current job to generate a file; it does not save it. See data handling details.
Recovering a job
Choose Import backup and select a Docfinish JSON file under 2 MB. Invalid files are rejected without replacing your current job. Keep your exported copies private. Do not rely on a browser save as your only backup.
Limits and help
The workspace supports up to 100 items and 100 locally saved jobs. Generated job PDFs support Latin text and standard punctuation. Other scripts can produce an export error. For existing PDFs, use the separate PDF tools. Email info@brandealz.com with an error description, without client details or private files.
